ChandraBadni

the shrine of Chandrabadni is most significant from religious point of view and is visited by a large number of devotees. A fair is held every year in the month of April. It is 55 kms. from Tehri & 37 kms. from Deo Prayag. It is situated at an altitude of about 2756 mts. above sea level. One can get a panoramic view of the Himalayas and a bird’s eye view of the neighbouring area.

A Tourist Rest House exists at naikhri at the foot of the temple.


Kunjapuri Temple

Dancing in the clouds at an altitude of 1645 mts. and commanding a sweeping view of the virgin Himalayan peaks to the north, Rishikesh, Haridwar and the Doon Valley to the south, is the Kunjapuri Temple.

If one is traveling to Gangotri, about 6 kms. from Narendra nagar the road bifurcates at Hindola Khal leading to this shrine, which is 5 kms. further by a link road.

Being one of the prime religious centers, the shrine overflows with pilgrims and visitors all through the year, especially during the ‘Navratras’ (April & October).

The festival of Kunjapuri is held in October during the Dussehra celebrations.


Panwali Kantha-Matya-Bugyal

About 16 kms. from Ghuttu, Panwali Kantha-Matya Bugyal are two sprawling high altitude meadows. The colourful flowers during the months of July & August present a kaleidoscopic view of the the area. These are superb for trek king & skiing. The track bifurcates from Ghuttu. There is an old Dharamshala, offering accommodatin.
