Deodars, the 3kms. wooden fence-linked trek used to par down through steep
rocks. Because of its highest suspension bridge in the world, spanning the

The Shrine of Gangotri is situated at
an elevation of 3200 metres amidst captivating surroundings and is 100 kms.
from Uttarkashi. The temple, constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh
Thapa in the 18th century is situated on the right bank of
Bhagirathi. It is visited by lakhs of pilgrims every year. A number of
Ashrams are located on the other side, some of which provide accommodotion
facilities to the visitors.
